Tuesday, August 8, 2023, 6:00 pm, 14 So. Holden Rd.

- The draft minutes of the July 3, 2023 meeting were reviewed and approved.
- Treasurer Tuttle-Connelly was absent and had no report.
- Water Tester Pat Bellemare reported the July water test was collected a week after the flood and showed only 11 colonies/100ml, historically similar to other July tests in Moores Pond. Michaels posted information about testing on the Town Facebook page. Bellemare is planning a Spring, 2024 trip and will need help with water testing possibly May-June-July.
- Old business.
a. Ellis submitted an August Newsletter article announcing the Ninth Annual Corregatta, Sunday, August 27, 2:30pm, the last event for Old Home Days.
b. Bellemare reported clearing brush from the dam. Joe and Dan Farley removed the fallen red maple from the water. Ellis will write thank you notes to the Farley brothers. Sand erosion continues after each rain.
c. Michaels will continue contacting Town Coordinator about the large pine removal.
d. Bellemare hasn’t been able to schedule staining the picnic tables because of rain. Luckily the tables are not as sticky as in other years, so the staining could be done next spring.
e. Haskell presented a “no boats” sign for the kiosk and a “boat launch” sign for the boat ramp. They were approved for installation. Boat launchers continue to overload the small beach parking lot and need to be redirected to the boat launch area during bathing season.
f. Michaels reported discussing dam ownership with Dave Shepardson, who has recently deeded ownership to his daughters. Bellemare reported children dangerously playing on the dam while the water was high, and that a “Danger. Keep Out.” sign should be installed. Claire will communicate with Karin Shepardson about the situation.
g. Michaels reported that the old Town website is back on line, but the new Town website is still under construction and we are not able to yet post anything on it .
h. Haskell had no new information about swamp lot#28.
i. Haskell reported reading in the August Newsletter that the Town had received a grant to clean up the Wilson Road property and serious clean up will begin after frost this fall. - New business.
a. Michaels will submit an article for the October Newsletter, due September 20th.
b. Next meeting (our last for this season) is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19th, 6pm.
