A meeting of the Warwick Highway Commissioners was held on 9/09/2024 at the Town Hall

Meeting called to order at 4:18pm by Bruce Kilhart, Vern Seconded
- Matt D. Review –
– Quantity of work – has improved, Work production has increased. Steeped up to the plate and has made significant improvements. Very attentive to this around town that needs to be done. Always shows up early and makes productive projects a priority.
– Knowledge of the job – has learned a lot in this job. Grants, manning a crew, how to get projects done. This has been a learning curve for Matt D. and has used it to his advantage. There is so much in this job to learn that over time it will happen. More consistency with emails once the computer gets here.
– Cooperation with others – Needs improvements from Commissioner Chair standpoint, Bruce grades him at a 3 as improved since starting, no areas of improvement from the Highway Clerk works well with vendors, works well with Highway Clerk
– Attendance – Here every day early, comes in anytime needed, stays late when needed, not asking for extra time off

There is a lot to do. Learn to prioritize better
- Are you proficient at the job, and meet the jobs requirements?
I have to work 50-60 hours to get the job done
- Are there things that could be improved? If yes, please explain.
Make sure the budget is adequate, make sure relationship with other committees stay in good standard.
- Do you go home with a feeling of satisfaction at the end of the workday? Meaning you can go home with a feeling of satisfaction of work completed not disappointment.
Everyday. There has been a lot of jobs done and a lot that need to be done. Easy to forget if don’t remember what starting point was. Need to overcome to get the job done.
- Do you feel that the Superintendent and Highway Commissioners hear you/your concerns? If not, please explain where you feel there needs to be improvement.
The Highway Superintendent feels as if the Commission is a threat to him and that they would like to do his job. Needs to attend more meetings with the input ande follow through on instructions
- Should the town keep you as an employee? If yes, please explain what you feel you contribute to the Highway dept.
Yes, Good work ethic, great job at learning curve, good worker, things are improving overall.
- What are your goals to improve and grow in the next year?
Better with admin, grants. Before starting a job needs to have a plan, budget and instructions
Kevin makes a motion to keep Matt D. as Highway Superintendent at the pay rate of $29.67 per hour. Vern seconded.
Bruce Motions for $31 an hour.
Matt D leaves meeting upset, hollering that he was going to call his lawyer.
Adjournment: Bruce K. moved to adjourn at 6:02pm; Kevin A. Seconded. All in favor “Aye”. Motion passed.

Kevin spoke to the selectboard about the whole review. Bruce showed selectboard potential truck. Discuss possible funding sources
